Family shenanigans - now a family of 5!

Dot, dot, dot

No time = bullet points:
  • Eliana is doing great. She has been extra snuggly and lovey this week (which is saying a lot as she's always a hug-bug). She's been eating like a champ - I think she heard us say that maybe she'll grow now that her procedure's been done so she's really working on it.
  • We've been busily making plans and trying to get organized in preparation for the girls to come home. Someone suggested we post a list of things we need in case anyone has stuff they'd like to sell us cheap or hand over. I'll try to do that soon. Maybe tomorrow.
  • We made up a little care package today to send over to the girls with another family traveling next week. They said they'd take pictures and video of the girls for us, too. yahoo! Making up their photo albums was really emotional for me. I just kept thinking that these pictures would be their first introduction to us, their parents, their new family.... how would we look to them? what are they thinking? what do they understand about this whole process?
  • Matt and I have been exhausted lately. And very emotional. And kind of crazy. Between getting matched with the girls, Eliana's surgery this week and trying to start getting ready to be a family of 5 we just feel drained. Happy, and eager, and blessed, but worn-out nonetheless.
  • We are going to have 3 girls! It is getting easier and easier for me to imagine spending time and playing with a 6/7 year old. I'm really getting excited about all of the fun things that go along with an older kid.
  • Today I am thankful for my down comforter. It's calling me now.......
