Happy birthday!
to Eldana - Dec 17, Matt - Dec 22 and me - today!
Add in Christmas celebrations that lasted about a week long and the craziness of 3 kids and maybe you'll forgive me for not being around much lately.
I actually still check my pals' blogs every day, but I am now the worst commenter (as in infrequent, not rude or misspelled).
Anyway, the holidays have really been great.
Eldana's birthday quote of the day ' I've waited my whole life to turn seven!' She was thrilled to have a whole day (or 2) just about her.
She helped me make cupcakes to take to school on her birthday. After mixing everything together, she was really relieved when they came out of the oven and there was no chicken in the cupcakes - I didn't know it, but she had some concerns that those eggs she'd beat into the batter might turn into chickens once cooked - haha!

Christmas was great. We had many celebrations with many family and friends. The girls did just great. I was worried about them getting overwhelmed with all of the madess, being off of our routine, and maybe feeling some sadness for families lost. But each day was really fun! No major meltdowns occurred, the girls are sharing their loot with each other and it's just been a really fun time. Eldana wrote a really sweet letter to Santa that she thinks might be why she got so many cool toys. I received lots of nice gifts. One special thing Matt gave me is a bound copy of my blog! From the first entry in June of 2006 through Dec 9 2008 he created a really lovely book. He titled it as Volume 1, so I guess I'd better get back to work and get Volume 2 going!

I've gotta run - I have birthday actvities to attend to! Matt is off for a few days starting tonight.. I'll ask him to post pictures soon.
