Tidbits
Well, it's been a little bit rough around here lately. Eliana has had the flu for over a week, now. She was kind enough to share it with me. After 2 days of the flu I also started getting a cold.... which I then gave to Eliana. Somehow Matt only had about 2 days of light symptoms and the other 2 girls have been healthy so far. Oh how I hope they don't get this. I've been feeling pretty crummy and I hate the thought of the kids feeling like this.
My Mom and brother were kind enough to come take the kids to the park for 1 1/2 hours the other day to give Matt and I a much needed rest. Mom's reward? The now has the flu!
Matt found my wedding rings!!!! This is the best news! They've been missing for, oh, about 4 months. At first I told myself that they were in one of the usual spots I just hadn't checked yet. I told myself this for about 2 months. Then I spent about a month still not really looking but somehow knowing they were lost. I finally, ashamedly, admitted it to Matt. I was so nervous to tell him! I really thought he'd be upset. Flashback: One night after we'd been married about a year we were at a bar with friends. We heard a story about a guy who had lost his wedding ring in the ocean while on his honeymoon. (The best part of the story is that he found it - in the ocean! in the same spot later that day). Matt got really upset at the thought of losing his wedding ring. He got really teary about it (Ok, there may have been a fair amount of beer in his belly at this point in the night) saying how he would be SO sad, devastated even, if he lost his wedding ring because it meant to much to him. Return to the present: So Matt was very kind when I finally admitted that they were lost. Then he secretly started looking at rings to buy me a replacement. But THEN HE FOUND THEM! there they were, on top of the armoire in our bedroom, where I never would have found them because I'm too short to see up there and who knows when I'd get up there to clean again. Anyway - hooray!!
Ok, this half written post about nothing noteworthy has sitting on my desktop for days. Really, I started it on Saturday! Let's finish it off -
The girls are doing great!
Eldana still LOVES school. Abigia and Eliana are playing together really well while she's away. They are both getting more adventurous? ornery? dangerous? as we have found them climbing anything and everything they can in the past few days. Seeing Eliana sitting on the dining room table about gave me a heart attack the first time around. Remember when she was my little baby who needed Momma for everything? Those days are gone!
I've transitioned into my new job. For those that didn't know, the company I contracted with has been "acquired" by another agency - the agency I worked for prior to this. So, a little weird, but I am now back at that agency. I *think* it will be fine, but will be a little nervous for the next few months as I evaluate things.
Abigia's birthday is Thursday!
Thursday is also is the Ethiopian New Year, Enkutatash. We will be going to one of the Ethiopian restaurants in Pittsburgh on Saturday to celebrate- hooray!
Well, off to veg a bit before bed....

Yay Yay! i am so excited about upcoming holiday/celebrations!!
Glad she likes school and that the other two are becoming quite the duo. My husband lost his ring for a day or two. He went out and bought a medal detecter to find it. It was either in the grass outside or in the concrete he had poured earlier. He was lucky it was in the grass/bushes.
thanks for the news about eliana on the dining room table...saved me from my "big one" !!! those two will be climbing the monster trees in the back yard before you know it...love ya mom
