Where have I been?
Here.
and there.
and there and there and there and there and there...
and that's just a Monday morning before 10.
Or at least it feels that way.
No complaints, just the facts. We are really busy. I always plan to make more time for blogging and then many, many more days pass and I think 'crap! I've done it again!' The pressure mounts. 'It better be a good one. It better have pictures, and detailed explanations of our every waking moment since February 7th.'
Really? It ain't gonna happen that way.
The general gist of things is good. The kids are great. We are REALLY looking forward to Spring! We went to the playground tonight and picnicked for dinner... it is so nice just be out in the fresh air.... It's very motivating to me and somehow relaxing at the same time. Being out in nature helps me prioritize and feel more centered. I really must make a better effort to put myself in this position more often.
The most exciting thing to happen (for me anyway) lately is that Matt and I spent a night away last weekend! That was our first night without kids in over 2 years. It was great! We went to a few stores, ate lots of food, lounged around the hotel, read books and watched WQED. Yes, we are wild. My mom stayed with the kids and they did just fine without us for the night. I am so thankful that the girls are so comfortable with Mom that we didn't have to worry (too much) about them while we were away. We did come home early on Sunday, though, skipping the movie we were planning to see because we missed the kids. We were away for 24 hours, almost exactly, and it was just right.
Blog promise: I'll post again this weekend. Matt's working and we have no big plans, so surely I can spare a few minutes to blog. I'll even post pictures!
Thanks to those of you who have subtley (and overtly) inquired as to my absence.

Never feel bad for being away from your blog - we just love hearing you are all well!
A night away? No kids? Hmmm...sounds foreign yet heavenly. The last night we spent alone was the day before we left Pittsburgh to pick up Sabrina when I moved down to foster. (April 11, 2007 if memory serves.) We were just talking last night about some day being able to take weekend away and how wonderful it would be but how much we would miss the kids.
yay blogging!
good for you getting out. we finally found a babysitter so we get out one evening a week to eat and do a movie or something. you really need it. the pictures above are great.
