Substance

I know, I'm terrible. I've gotten the emails, phone calls and snide comments to remind me what an awful blogger I have become. I DO apologize. I know you want to see pictures of my beautiful girl and also to know exactly what is going on, here.
Eliana is doing great! She continues to be the most fun, beautiful, wonderful baby girl ever. She's talking a little more, using her imagination more and growing up a little more every day. Being her mom is the best!
No news on the other girls, yet. We have been hoping that we might get our travel date today. We've been watching when other people get their travel notices in relation to referral and ours could come today. Or in 3 weeks. But, because today is here I am obsessively stalking 2 email accounts hoping we get the news. It's good for me to have something like this to waste time on because I really don't have anything else to do. HA!
We have been making good headway at our house, getting things organized, clean and ready for 2 more kids. We still have a lot to do, but I am feeling really good about the progress we've made. We have some amazing friends and family that have been helping when they can - we appreciate this so much! The next few weeks will be full of finishing things up. We still have one room to paint, a basement to clean, 2 bedrooms worth of stuff to move to other bedrooms, and lots of little stuff to wrap up.
We've been doing a terrible job of learning Amharic. There is just not enough time in the day (yes, I know this will be true from here on out as I am about to be Mom to 3 kids).
It's been a pretty high stress time here at our house. As in high anxiety, very emotional, unable to carry on a conversation because I can't think straight. This is not my normal functioning level so it is EXTRA stressful when I get the crazies like this because I keep thinking 'what's wrong with me? Get it together!'


I wrote that 2 days ago and am just now going to get around to posting it.

I'm on the tail end of a grumpy as all heck 2 days. Matt's been snippy, too, so we make a great team!
Just before bed tonight I taught Eliana how to give a zerbert on Matt's belly. Her version is to position herself over his belly and spit on it! I laughed so hard! I wish I had videoed it so I could share it with you. That has fixed my crankiness. Thanks Eliana!

News: Not much. We were really hoping to get word of our travel date yesterday but didn't. It's fine. Maybe next week.
We did buy Abigia's bed today. And bedding. And curtains. I love Ikea.
And we had Ethiopian food for dinner.
AND brought home pre-made frozen injera so I can get back to trying my hand at Ethiopian cooking without the pressure of mastering the injera. One thing at a time.....
I'll beg Matt to pst more pictures tomorrow. I'm too tired tonight. Just trust me that E is just as beautiful as ever.... maybe even more so, now that I think about it.....
