Berbere

(OK, so I started this post yesterday but pictures wouldn't upload. I feared an uproar if I dared post without pictures, so I waited until I could get photos up....)

Remember me?

Things here are good!
Quick update while everyone else is napping:

Food/eating stuff is going well. I'd say at this point all of our kids eat like normal kids their age. So, at 1,2 and 6 that's not to say that their aren't dining room table struggles, but it's not bad.
Sleep/bedtime... pretty good. Everyone is sleeping in their own beds, now (well, sort of... Eliana sleeps in an extra crib in our room and Abigia sleeps in Eliana's crib in their room. Maybe soon I'll feel up to trying Abigia in her big girl bed). Bedtime is getting easier and a little shorter. I still hang around (in eyesight) while Eldana and Abigia go to sleep, and I still have to rock Eliana to sleep (we'll get back to working on putting herself to sleep soon, I hope). So, it still takes 1-1 1/2 hours for the full routine, but we're making progress.
Communication is amazing. They are learning English so quickly!
Behavior seems to be pretty typical, age-appropriate stuff. Yes, this means we have a time-in or 2 every day and there are tears and pouting from someone on most days, but nothing crazy, nothing extreme.
Adjustment stuff seems to be going really well. Eldana tells us stories all of the time about things that happened with family and friends in Ethiopia. She is happy to share with us and we are so glad that she wants to. I've heard that there is often a 3 month 'honeymoon period' after adoptions and then, when the kids feel more secure and comfortable with their new families, they begin testing the waters more aggressively. We're at just about 2 months now... we'll see what happens.

We are having fun! Today is a gorgeous day and we've already had a great morning. I'm hoping to get outside and do some yard work while the kids play in the sun!

This is why people have kids, right? So they can wash the dishes?

'Yeah, right, Mom'

Could this kid look any more ridiculous?

Yes, she can...

Eldana loves to accessorize!
