Wait 'til you hear this
Erase that last post from your minds.
That medical report we received, you know the one that said she's not gaining weight, has acid reflux and some other things that made me so sad I didn't even bother to type them onto this blog - well, it's not true. That doctor accidentally emailed us a report on the WRONG baby.
Supposedly the doctor is working on our baby's report now and we should receive it soon.
Supposedly our baby is doing better and should be released from the hospital this week. (Keep in mind that they said that last week, too).
I have spent all afternoon and evening feeling both relieved and irate at this whole situation.
Deep breaths, happy thoughts, peaceful music.......
The good things we learned today: The attorney is getting ready to submit the papers to 1. begin the Family Court process and 2. get authorization to do the DNA test. Auth for the DNA test sounds like no big deal, just giving our info to the US Embassy to get preapproval to do the required DNA test so that we can proceed with the adoption. The actual DNA test can't be done until Eliana is released from the hospital. Family Court is the step where a social worker interviews the birthmother and writes up a report. That seems to take several weeks. Hopefully beginning them both at the same time will save time overall, and we'll inch closer to the final stages.
We just want to bring our little baby home! Hang in there Eliana!
