Longaberger Lottery / baby / fun day
Hey all!
I wanted to let you in on our latest fund-raiser that is starting this coming week.
Some women that Matt works with are doing this for us to help raise money for the adoption. We appreciate it so much! They have done a lot of work to get this together - now we have to do the next step which is selling tickets!
Here's how it works:
Purchase a ticket for $5.00 (plus a 46 cent PayPal fee) and get 26 changes to win!!!
Those of you that know us in real life can buy actual tickets from us without the PayPal fee, of course.
Thru the month of December we will award a basket each day to the person who has the winning lottery ticket based on the pick three West Virginia lottery. For example if your ticket matches the West Virginia lottery number on December 19th you will win the Knick Knack Basket.

I'm really excited about this. I'd never heard of doing a raffle/lottery thing like this before, but it seems like a great deal. 26 chances for $5 is pretty good. I don't know how wide the Longaberger craze goes, but these baskets are really popular around here. Check out their website for pictures of their products.
We had such a great day today! We hung out with my mom all day today and had so much fun. We met some friends at a big craft fair, did a little bargain shopping and ate way too much ice cream at Sarris! Mom and I see each other a lot but it had been a long time since we had just spent time together, not hurriedly rushing around or trying to get 10000000 things done.
Mom is the best. She is currently reading the book Black Baby, White Hands. She asked if she could read it when she saw it at our house. I was so happy that she was interested enough to read it and she is really enjoying it. She says she's learning a lot about growing up as an adopted child and also about trans-racial relationships. Thanks Mom for taking such an active interest in our family! It means a lot to me!!

you rock, your mom rocks, and you better believe that baby rocks!
What a great fund raising idea!
And that last photo cracks me up!
What a fun fundraiser! Where do you go to look at the baskets?...or did I misread that?
You can go to the Longaberger site to see what their baskets look like in general. I can't seem to find a way to find a pic of each basket.... I'll keep trying.
