Whoooosh

That is time rapidly passing by.
Holy cow.

Look at this face!!!

News: not much.
Eliana has been sick, which stinks. I was so proud that she hadn't been sick since coming home. Now she has a cold and it's been kind of ugly. A lot of snot.
Lots.
And drool. She has 2 teeth broken through, now. CANNOT get a picture of them. Yet.
Sleeping schedule? Ha! Bottle feedings? No thank you, she says.
She's feeling a lot better today, really. And I can't complain at all because as awful as I know she felt she was still my sweet girl. She was quite smiley and playful despite the yuk running our of her head.
We had 2 playdates last week (before the sick came along) BOTH WITH BOYS. It's going to be hard keeping up with this gal's social calendar!

We DO want to say 'WELCOME O THE WORLD' to our new friend Domenic. He was born on Friday. Here's a picture of him with his big sister:

How cute is that!?!

This pic was taken at that wedding we went to last weekend. Eliana's face cracks me up. The hat doesn't help. I am pale as a ghost

Look how sweet my dog is. Even though Eliana grabs her hair and yanks as hard as she can (regardless of whether it's a lip or an eyeball) Alias keeps coming back for more. She sticks close to the baby, like she'd keeping an eye on her. Now if we could just train her to change diapers......

Check it out:

I got Eliana's hair to lay down for about 3 hours today!

Those 2 pics were taken at the beginning of a wedding reception we went to today.

This was her beautiful 'do' by the time we left.
She parties hard, what can I say?
Happy wedding day Katie and Doron!!!

New sound of the day? DADADADADADADADADADADADADA
She doesn't know what (who) it means yet, but it sure does make us smile to hear it!

In other news: I can't believe she's going to be a year old in just a few weeks.

Oh! And I forgot to update you all: We went to the doctors this week.
Eliana weighs 14 pounds and 6 oz and she's 25 1/5 inches tall.
When the doctor plots her on the growth charts he says that he thinks she will hit the 3rd percentile. She's not there yet, but he thinks she'll make it. Haha - what high heights we strive for (no pun intended).
Heart surgery: Not until next year, late winter/early spring. The cardio doc wants her to be at least 20 pounds. Our job: keep growing her.

Catch up time

Deep in thought?
"Oh crap I'm in trouble..." ?
I'm not sure what this look is all about.

Baby's first baseball game!

Last week at a play date. This is her friend Joseph. Isn't he cute?! And giant?! he is 6 weeks older than Eliana and is a big fella. The relationship is new... no pressure kids.
Eliana would not sit up for pictures. She's reclining on a pillow here and pulling Joseph's hair. Sweet, huh?

Eliana with KTeriffic, her godmother. Showing off her standing skillzzzzz

The rest of these are from Mother's Day.
I had such a nice day! We spent time with my Mom and then Matt's mom. We ate lots of good food and just had a great day. Just being able to celebrate Mother's Day is a sweet privilege that I treasure.

Can you see my bracelet here? Matt got me a beautiful braelet/necklace set that has a sweet charm of a mama and child. He is so very thoughtful.

And this was my gift from Eliana. She finger and foot painted this for me! My first piece of art from my baby! She might have had a little help from her Papa. (I told you he was sweet!)

Happy (Guatemalan) Mothers Day!

My husband is the sweetest!

Happy day to all Mama's lucky enough to have their baby's home, to those fostering their children, and to those waiting and praying for their children to come home.

Zoo time fun time

I love my baby in a hat!

You can see she is fascinated by the ostriches.

Eliana and her papa at the zoo!
Last week we went to the local zoo. We had a great time! Eliana didn't actually look at any animals, but she likes hangin' out in the stroller.
My Mom got our family a year's pass to the zoo for Easter (Thanks Mom!) so we expect to be spending a lot of time there this summer.
Eliana's first birthday is coming up - holy cow. Just the thought of it makes me cry. And Mother's Day is this weekend. Bring on the tissues.
Yes, I am sap.
